Indeed, the Embassy, which avails itself of a Defense Attaché Office and a Scientific Attaché, coordinates a well-structured network of Italian entities, consisting of an Italian Cultural Institute (which hosts a Tourist Board-ENIT desk), and an office of the Trade and Investment Agency (ITA-ICE) which, with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, deals with the internationalization of our enterprises in order to promote our productive system, culture and excellences, as well as to assist our fellow countryman and women, as a result of the openness and diversification gained by the bilateral relationship between Italy and Sweden, which nowadays expands in every domain, from the more traditional ones to most innovative sectors.
Sweden and Italy are the bearers of a shared vision. The Nordic and Mediterranean perspective meet and complement each other in our joint membership in the European family, a bond mostly based on common values, strong cooperation and robust integration, which are functional to tackle the global challenges that we face in an ever changing world.
My goal is to intensify the collaboration among all sectors, starting from the issues of internal and external security, the scientific and technological domain, as well as innovation and the opportunities of the productive system to grow in a sustainable way. In all this, it is key to acknowledge the essential value of culture as a vehicle for dialogue and mutual enrichment, with a particular attention to the role of the growing and dynamic Italian community in Sweden: Italians in Sweden contribute to facilitate the cultural exchange and mutual understanding among our nations and unfold a vital role in different fields, such as the business sector, the academic and the scientific and technological one.
Despite our deeply rooted and long-standing friendship, our membership as EU partners, namely the most advanced system of integration, and the prospect of becoming allies soon, we might have, Italians and Swedes, still room to get to know each other better. We work towards this vision and for this reason we are open to ideas and suggestions, that can be easily sent by email to info.stockholm@esteri.it.
Serving my country abroad is a huge responsibility, as it is an honour and a privilege. It is with this spirit that I interpret my posting as Italian Ambassador in Sweden.
