Il 3 novembre scorso si è svolta all’Ambasciata d’Italia la cerimonia per celebrare la ricorrenza della festa delle Forze Armate e dell’Unità d’Italia. All’evento, organizzato nella Residenza di S.E. l’Ambasciatore d’Italia Vinicio Mati congiuntamente all’Addetto Militare, Colonnello Stefano Silvestrini, hanno partecipato alti rappresentanti del Ministero della Difesa e delle autorità militari svedesi, gli Addetti militari delle altre Ambasciate accreditate in Svezia, esponenti del mondo della difesa e dell’industria militare nonché della comunità italiana a Stoccolma.
L’Ambasciatore Mati nel suo intervento di benvenuto ha ricordato il significato della Festa, che in Italia si commemora il 4 novembre, nella storia dell’Unità d’Italia, ed ha sottolineato l’importanza della intensa collaborazione tra Italia e Svezia anche nel settore delle Forze Armate, destinata a rivestire un ruolo sempre più rilevante alla luce della decisione della Svezia di aderire alla NATO. In tale contesto è stato evocato anche il comune impegno a garantire il necessario sostegno all’Ucraina ed al suo popolo in questo momento di grave difficoltà. Il Colonnello Silvestrini per parte sua ha ricordato l’impegno delle Forze Armate all’estero e in Italia a salvaguardia della sicurezza creando le premesse, in ogni circostanza, di maggiore stabilità e pace tra i popoli.

The ceremony to celebrate the Armed Forces Day and the Unification of Italy was held at the Embassy of Italy on November 3. The event, organized in the Residence of H.E. the Ambassador of Italy Vinicio Mati together with the Defence Attaché, Colonel Stefano Silvestrini, was attended by Senior representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Swedish military authorities, the Defence Attachés of the other Embassies accredited to Sweden, representatives of the Defence sector and the military industry as well as the Italian community in Stockholm.
Ambassador Mati recalled in his welcome speech the significance of the celebration, which is commemorated in Italy on November 4 as the day of the Unification, and underlined the importance of a close collaboration between Italy and Sweden in the field of the Armed Forces, particularly significant in light of Sweden’s decision to join NATO. In this context, he underlined the common commitment to ensure the necessary support for Ukraine and its people at this time of serious difficulty. Colonel Silvestrini remembered the commitment of the Armed Forces abroad and in Italy to guarantee security and create the conditions to ensure in all circumstances stability and peace among peoples.
