Cooperation agreement
The reference framework for cultural and scientific relations between Italy and Sweden is the Cultural, Scientific and Technological Collaboration Agreement, signed in 2001 in Rome, ratified by Italy on 20 February 2006 and operational since 2007. In 2010 the protocol of this agreement was implemented by the Swedish Ministry of Research and the first five projects were approved, financed by the two Ministries of Education and Research in strategic areas: sustainable development, environment, cultural heritage and particles’ accelerators.
On March 26, 2024, the IV Executive Protocol for the three-year period 2024-2026 was signed. It led to the introduction for the first time with Sweden of Projects of “Great Relevance”. Contacts are planned with the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) for the renewal of the Executive Programme for the next three-year period 2026-2028.
