<strong>Directly to the offices of the Revenue Agency<\/strong> located throughout Italy, once they have entered the country, by prior appointment at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agenziaentrate.gov.it\/portale\/siti-web-regionali\">Direzioni Provinciali e uffici Provinciali territorio &#8211; Agenzia delle Entrate<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Through a special power of attorney<\/strong> delegating a person to submit the tax code application form, on their behalf, to the offices of the Revenue Agency located throughout Italy, pursuant to Article 1 of Ministerial Decree No. 281 of May 17, 2001.<\/p>\n<p>For the legalization of foreign documents: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/italiani-all-estero\/traduzione-e-legalizzazione-documenti\/legalizzazione-documenti\/\">Legalisation of documents \u2013 Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Through the Italian consular office<\/strong> responsible for your place of residence.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the request for a tax code has to be sent via email to <a href=\"mailto:ambstockholm.fiscalcode@esteri.it\">ambstockholm.fiscalcode@esteri.it<\/a> including only pdf attachments of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The form <a href=\"https:\/\/ambstoccolma.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Form-AA48-Editable_AA4_8_Modello_ING.pdf\">AA48<\/a> filled and signed;<\/li>\n<li>A copy of a valid identity document,<\/li>\n<li>The residence certificate (personbevis)<\/li>\n<li>A letter stating the reasons for the request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>The Office will evaluate the reasons supporting the application, which will be processed according to the workload and sent only in electronic format. <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In particular:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Non-EU citizens<\/u><\/strong> who intend to stay in Italy are assigned a tax code:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 by the One-Stop Shop for Immigration, located in each Prefecture and responsible for issuing entry permits to foreign citizens who apply for a residence permit for employment or family reunification; <a href=\"https:\/\/prefettura.interno.gov.it\/it\">Prefetture | Il portale delle Prefetture<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 by the Police Headquarters, office of the State Police, for foreign citizens who apply for other types of residence permits. <a href=\"https:\/\/questure.poliziadistato.it\/en\">Questure sul web | Polizia di Stato<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Study reasons<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EU students<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students who are staying in Italy can apply for a tax code directly in Italy at the offices of the Revenue Agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agenziaentrate.gov.it\/portale\/web\/english\">Home &#8211;
