Applications are now open."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation invites nominations for the 2026 science and innovation awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1) \u201cFarnesina \u2013 Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ninth edition of the award is open to early-career researchers (aged 35 or under at the time of publication of the call for applications) of Italian nationality who have distinguished themselves abroad for their contribution to the advancement of science and technology in any field.<\/p>\n<p>The award is designed to strengthen bilateral scientific cooperation by funding a three-month research stay at an Italian research institute, based on a collaborative research project. The grant of approximately 15,000 euros will be used to cover expenses incurred during the research period at the designated research centre, namely accommodation, meals and any costs relating to laboratory activities.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be assessed by the Conference of Presidents of Italian Public Research Institutions\u00a0(CoPer), taking into account the preference indicated by the recipient in the cover letter attached to the application. The winner will also be invited to present their research at the next Conference of Scientific, Space and Agricultural Attach\u00e9s, to be held in Reggio Calabria in November, where they will also receive a diploma and a commemorative plaque.<\/p>\n<p>For full details regarding the requirements, deadlines and procedures for submitting applications, application forms and the assessment of applications, please refer to the Call for Applications below.<\/p>\n<p>Enquiries and applications from Italian researchers working in Sweden must be sent to the following email address: <a href=\"mailto:stoccolma.scienza@esteri.it\">stoccolma.scienza@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0 <strong>by 22 September 2026<\/strong> at the latest.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2) \u2018Innovation that Speaks Italian\u2019 Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The award is aimed at founding members of technology start-ups characterised by a high degree of innovation, operating in Sweden and founded by Italian citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The application assessment process will be coordinated by the MAECI, Directorate-General for Growth and Export Promotion, Office XI \u2013 Bilateral Scientific Cooperation, in consultation with Office IV \u2013 Promotion of Innovative Industrial Sectors and Start-ups, in collaboration with the PNICube Association of University Incubators.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the award will be invited to present their research at the forthcoming Conference of Scientific, Space and Agricultural Attach\u00e9s in Reggio Calabria in November, where they will also receive a diploma and a commemorative plaque.<\/p>\n<p>For full details regarding eligibility criteria, deadlines and procedures for submitting applications, the necessary forms and the assessment of applications, please refer to the Call for Applications below.<\/p>\n<p>Applications from start-ups operating in Sweden must be sent to the following email address: <a href=\"mailto:stoccolma.scienza@esteri.it\">stoccolma.scienza@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0 <strong>by 22 September 2026<\/strong> at the latest.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3) \u201cScience, She Says!\u201d Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2026 award, now in its fourth year, will be presented to <strong>five female researchers from abroad aged under 40<\/strong>, representing five different geographical regions: Africa and the Middle East; Asia and the Pacific; Europe; Central and South America; and North America.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be assessed by a committee chaired by the Head of Office XI of the Directorate-General for Growth and Export Promotion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which will comprise the rectors and\/or representatives of leading Italian research and academic institutions.
