The inauguration of Italian artist Giuseppe Penone’s sculpture ‘The Inner Flow of Life’, the fifth work in the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation’s sculpture park on Djurgården island in Stockholm, took place this afternoon.

The event, which was attended by Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel, the founders of the Foundation, Princess Estelle, Minister of Culture Parisa Liljestrand and the Foundation’s Executive Director Sara Sandström, was also attended by Giuseppe Penone, who created the permanent sculpture that adorns the recreational park, which dates back to the 1500s.

In his speech, Ambassador Michele Pala emphasized how this event is a recognition of Italian contemporary art and how the element of environmental sustainability is omnipresent in the work, which embodies the relationship between man and nature.

The Sculpture Park is open to the public all year round, and during the summer season guided tours are available, as well as a downloadable audio guide in Swedish and English.
