Our fellow citizen Cristian Malagnino, engaged in a journey through Europe by bike to promote awareness and research on Scleroderma, arrived in Stockholm last week. Scleroderma is an autoimmune disorder that 25000 people are affected by in Italy and about 2000 in Sweden. In order to promote Cristian’s initiative the Italian Embassy arranged a meeting with the Swedish Rheumatism Association engaged in the fight against Scleroderma “Riksföreningen för systemisk skleros”.
The initiative – held at the Bianchi café and cycles, iconic brand of Italian cycling – has allowed to lay the groundwork for future collaborations between the Swedish association and the Italian Group for the struggle against Scleroderma (GILS), a non-profit association that has promoted and supported Cristian Malagnino’s journey.
