The 79th anniversary of the Italian Republic was celebrated in Stockholm in the wonderful setting of the Italian Embassy. The event was attended by more than 400 participants, including members of the Swedish Government and Parliament, members of the Italian community in Sweden, the Diplomatic Corps, Swedish universities and research centres, and business representatives. After an evocative performance of the National Anthems by soprano Luisa Ciciriello, Ambassador Pala recalled the ever-present significance of the values of democracy, freedom and peace for the Italian Republic. He emphasised the excellent moment that relations between Italy and Sweden are going through. These relations are growing in a number of areas. He also praised the thriving and hard-working Italian community, which has always been appreciated in this country. The event also provided a platform to showcase the excellence of Made in Italy, encompassing not only food and wine but even other areas of business, thanks to the numerous sponsors who contributed to its success.
