On January 1st, 2017, Italy took its seat as non-permanent member of the United Nation Security Council, for the 7th time after its accession to the UN. Continuing its tradition in fostering multilateralism, Italy will engage in pursuing the consensus among the Council’s members with a view to promoting global peace, prosperity, sustainable development and human rights for all. “Building peace for tomorrow” is Italy’s cornerstone and our main drive on the Security Council.
