From 29 September to 1 October 2023, Rome will host the 44th edition of the Ryder Cup.
The renowned golf tournament is played since 1927 every two years between a US and a European team, each consisting of 12 players. This year the European team will be represented by Austria, Denmark, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Spain and Sweden.
For the first time, Italy will play host to the competition, using the occasion to highlight both its diverse and expanding golf offering as well as Rome’s rich artistic and cultural legacy.
The playing field will the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, completely renovated in view of the international competition.
Rome is also a candidate for the World Exhibition Expo 2030. The Eternal City, in the course of almost three thousand years has been able to reinvent itself through the centuries, keeping its roots firmly planted in the continuous drive for innovation, art, intercultural and inter-faith dialogue.
Today, these characteristics can become the new starting point for rethinking the cities of the future, for a new idea of hospitality and liveability.
